Appointments System

We run a 24 hour access surgery for mornings and afternoons and a routine appointment system for mornings and afternoons.

If you contact the surgery you will be given an appointment within 48 hours (not always by the doctor of your choice).

Telephone lines open at 08:00am for an on the day appointment for both practices.

Our Care Navigator will ask you the reason for the GP appointment to ensure you see the most appropriate clinician.

In order for an appointment system to run effectively and waiting times to be kept to a minimum, it is necessary to remember that appointments are made initially for one person and are 10 minutes.  If other members of the family need to consult the doctor, please make a separate appointment.

We are able to book appointments for First Contact Physio Assessments.

You can also request an appointment by completing our online form and a care navigator will respond.

Home Visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10:00am.

Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls. Priority will be given to patients who are terminally ill and bed bound.

Interpreter

If you require an interpreter to attend with you when you see your Doctor please notify the care navigator and she will arrange this for you.

Chaperone

Patients may ask for a chaperone for any procedure or examination for which they consider appropriate. Please inform the care navigator upon arrival if you require this.

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. We have a DNA Policy which may result in de-registration if 2 or more appointments are not attended.

You can cancel appointments on the My Health Online account, you will need to have this set up by the practice before registering or by completing the online form.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.
